Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata)

If you are feeling a bit down due to the cold weather, ill health or lack of sunshine and exercise, Passion Flower is a perfect choice for herb of the month. It is one of the herbs in our Stress Release Tea which is traditionally used in Western Herbalism as a nervine tonic and calmative to help alleviate stress and nervousness.

Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata)Dosage

Capsules: 6-8 daily.

Tea (Infusion): Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1 teaspoon of the dried herb and let infuse for 15 minutes. Drink a cup in the evening for sleeplessness and a cup twice a day for the easing of other conditions.

Tincture: Take 10 ml 3-4 times daily.

Combinations: For insomnia it combines well with Valerian, Hops and Jamaican Dogwood. For drug addiction, combine with Oat Straw, Hops and Valerian.

Contra-indications and CAUTION: Use low doses during pregnancy.

Interactions with Other Drugs or Side Effects: None known.
